Best Nursing Covers for Plus Size Women
If you are here, it's most likely that you have spent some time on the internet looking for the perfect nursing cover. Though there are many options out there, it seems that when it comes to plus size covers, options dwindle.
* Me when I see all the models are under 5'2 and 90 pounds.*
During your search, you probably found the Milksnob (and 100's of knocks offs) type covers. These are the ones that are advertised as nursing scarfs.
These covers work well but tend to favor more the petite to smaller than average women.
Here is why.
Most multifunctional nursing covers are made from jersey knit blend fabrics. These are bought on rolls that look like this.
These rolls measure at 30 inches wide. This means all jersey knit covers cannot be wider than 30 inches wide. So companies that have attempted to provide more coverage can only add length, but not width.
Which is better than nothing, but not the solution
Adding length doesn't create more wiggle room, just coverage.
To be able to accommodate, nursing covers need to be both wider and longer.
So are you out of luck?
No. (thank goodness) Here at Cover Me Ponchos, we figured it out.
Without giving away our secret, our plus line nursing ponchos are 35 inches wide and 37 inches long.
